The 3rd Thyroid School meeting planned to be held in Gaziantep on April 18, 2012 coincided with the aftermath of a very painful event. On April 17, 2012, our young colleague, Thoracic Surgery Specialist Dr. Ersin Arslan, lost his life in a heinous attack. For this reason, we completely changed the program of the meeting held on April 18, and after a short meeting, we attended the funeral of our colleague on behalf of the Endocrine Surgery Association. As an association, we strongly condemn this heinous attack, wish God's mercy upon our colleague, and offer our condolences to his grieving family and the entire medical community.
